Casual_Select Shop embodies more than a fashion statement — it’s a lived philosophy. Rooted in the everyday streets of Taipei, it values the subtle, the unpolished, and the sincerely expressive. Casualness here isn’t carelessness, but an ease — a cultivated informality that speaks through texture, layering, and how things are worn rather than what they are. It’s about observing life closely, embracing playfulness, and finding joy in unexpected combinations. It’s the art of looking effortless, where personal taste, not trends, sets the tone.
The physical space embodies the same spirit — transforming an inhabited house into a fashion select shop while maintaining a harmonious relationship with the building’s existing conditions. Product storage is seamlessly integrated into the layout, allowing the circulation path to be minimized yet remain highly functional. This pathway subtly exposes the presence of stored garments, while staff and landlord activities unfold behind frosted glass, creating a gentle layering between business and private life. Amid the old house’s imperfections, a renewed order emerges — as if a white box had quietly settled within the existing structure, offering both contrast and continuity.
This project moves between everyday life and design intention — creating a place where old and new coexist, and multiple functions, like Taipei itself, naturally intertwine.
